Well, I can safely say that this is the first anime I’ve ever watched
where I had my mouth hanging open and my hand slapped to my forehead for at
least 80% of the show. Not only
that, but I’ve never before said, “Oh my God” and “What the fuck?!” so
much in a span of 90 minutes in my entire life.
Fortunately for Buttobi CPU, everything in the show is so ridiculous, you
know it’s intentional and therefore are allowed to enjoy the filth instead of
pulling a “librarian” (reference to my sister, the librarian, who hates the
Man Show and upon seeing me watching the “I’m A Loser” video by Beck when
I was younger, proceeded to tell on me because she thought it was sending me a
bad message).
Let’s start with the story.
This guy goes out to buy a computer and ends up getting one from some guy
on the street, only it’s not the one he thought it was.
When he opens it up, it turns out to be a female robot. The catch is that these types of computers require special
attention. For instance, instead of
RAM that our friends the desktop computer use, these computers use organic type
material, and this material needs to be refreshed every three days or so, so it
doesn’t run out.
Anyway, lots of random sex in this show, but since
they never actually show anything graphic, it’s not really hentai, but just
don’t watch it with your mom. The
saving grace of this show was the comical type things, like when Mimi (the
computer) gets pissed off at Akira’s regular computer because he’s paying
more attention to it than her and starts yelling at it, hell, there were even
sexual situations that were funny.
Okay, as for artwork and animation, surprisingly
good. The artwork wasn’t anything
fabulous, but at the very least, any equipment drawn, like computers, was
accurate. The animation was nice
and smooth, much better than what I expected after I heard the premise of the
show. I haven’t watched the sub,
but the dub was actually pretty darn good.
And the thing that had me jumping up and down
yelling and cheering? That would be
the other part of the plot, the fact that American versions of these female
computers are trying to get rid of the Japanese models.
Why would this delight me so? These
evil computers are Macs!
Genre
- action/mecha?/comedy/almost hentai/romance?
Animation
- much better than I expected, the animation is smooth and the
artwork is detailed
Sub
vs. Dub - I haven't watched the sub yet
the
Good - it's funny, it would have an interesting plot if not for all
the sex, good animation, evil Macs
the
Bad - I was cringing almost nonstop at what lay before my eyes
Overall
- for some odd reason, I, someone who doesn't quite like the idea of
watching cartoons ram each other up the butt, like this show. It's
probably because it's so blatantly obvious that the show is ridiculous that I
like it. Oh yeah, and if you want to laugh your ass off, watch the slide
