Right,
first off, Iria: Blah Blah Blah is based off of a Japanese movie that I think
was made in the '80's called Zeram. From what I remember, it was about six
or seven years ago when I saw it (it was one of my dad's good movie rentals,
like Chopper Chicks in Zombie Town or Big Bimbo Movie Bash or whatever it was
called), the coolest part was the monster who just couldn't be killed, even
though they thought they got rid of it about seven times. The least cool
part was the two electrician brothers (ala Super Mario Bros.), the older of whom
trying constantly to get on the Iria type person. But I remember that it
was really cool.
Many
years later, I was about to leave the homestead to go and monkey around with my
"doggs" when I glanced at the tube and saw this cartoon monster that
looked pretty much the same as in that movie, I watched it for as long as I
could before I was dragged away with tears in my eyes, just so I could go and
get punched by one of my friends every time I killed him on 007. Anyway, I
later found out that someone had re-made that movie into an anime that was sorta
based on the same thing. I went crazy and bought it.
Iria
is about a girl who wants to get revenge on this invincible monster deal called
a Zeiram, who constantly kicks all ass, for "killing" her brother.
That's pretty much the story.
Genre
- action/sci-fi
Animation
- The animation is nice and smooth with a good amount of detail thrown in.
Character designs are very good and the design of everything else is kinda cool
too, with a Japanese/sci-fi thing goin' on.
Sub
vs. Dub - the sub is better, by not by a whole lot
the
Good - Hmmm... Zeiram, Fujikuro, lots of action and other stuff like
that. Oh yeah, good animation and only one booby scene (hardly anything
compared with many other anime titles).
the
Bad - The worst part was that Fujikuro didn't do any fighting that you
were allowed to see, this sucks because he kicks so much ass! Also, during
one scene there is accidental breast grabbing, followed by,"It's pretty
squishy, wouldn't you say?" in the dub and,"It's pretty soft." in
the sub. Now come on, that's just stupid.
Overall
- Great action movie with cool characters. Don't expect to get the meaning
of life out of this one. (6 episodes)
