Yu Yu Hakusho: Movie 2

WAAAA!  I just finished writing my review of Wicked City about ten seconds ago and decided that it might be a good idea to write another review while I'm still in a silly frame of mind.  Okay, in my opinion, the biggest problem with this movie is that you might have trouble understanding what the hell is going on if you haven't seen the TV series, I know I did.  Fortunately, this isn't a big problem, and anyway, lots of movies based on a series don't really help you understand what's going on too well.

Anywho, we rented this movie on one of our "movie nights", where we rent one or more really shitty movies to make fun of or a shitty movie and some anime.  Unfortunately, I have to give credit to that VanSleet guy for finding this (for an explanation on how much VanSleet sucks, visit the words section and read 'a guy I know').

Hey wait!  Before I continue the review, I have a story that Schuster told me!  Okay, VanSleet came back for the weekend from wherever the hell he goes to college right?  Well, Schuster tells me that he showed up at his house asking for a place to stay, in his possession was a bag of Chex mix made for him by his mother!  HA HA HA!  His mom made him some Chex mix and sent him out to find someplace else to stay!  He ended up sleeping at somebody's house without being invited!  What a dick!

Okay, that was fun.  We rented Poltergeist Report mainly because it looked kinda cool.  So we get back to Schuster's house and , after Josh leaves for sleepy time, start watching it.  Since it was getting kinda late and we were watching anime, I was getting pretty hyper, I think we had also just watched Escape From New York, so that may have helped get me in a crazy mood.  So as we were watching this movie, I was just a jumpin' all over the place on Schuster's bed whenever anything cool happened, which was all the time, even though I didn't really understand what was going on.  I managed to ignore the little detail about not knowing the back-story by just accepting what I saw, lots of DBZ type action.

The story:  Bad guy wants to do bad things, good guys want to stop the bad guy from being a dick and crazy stuff happens.  The coolest part of the movie?  Hmm that would have to be just one guy (unfortunately, I don't remember anybodies names and I'm too lazy to look 'em up right now), the big guy with Egon hair.  He kicks ass!  I still remember when he said, "You fool, Yuske isn't your only opponent, did you forget that I'm still here, waiting to kick your ass?!"  In my state of fatigue and hyperness, I could not refrain from raising my hands in the air and letting out a "AAAAAAAAAHH!" when he said that.

Just so you don't think I only saw this movie while I was all fucked up, I'll tell you right after this sentence that I saw it more than once, okay?  I saw this movie more than once.

Genre - action/DBZ type stuff

Animation - The animation is very good in this movie, they also did a good job of making things look pretty attractive from a visual standpoint, even though they didn't get too fancy

Sub vs. Dub - only saw the dub

the Good - Super kick ass fights, good characters, kinda funny at times and really funny at other times, that Egon haired guy is the shit (his name is in the pictures), it made me want to dance?

the Bad - not a whole lot is done to explain what is going on, so it's better if you have already seen the TV series Yu Yu Hakusho, a lot of stupid looking hair styles

Overall - It's just full of good things
